Working with Noreen was incredible. We both came into lessons with Noreen with different levels of experience singing but needing to sing confidently and consistently together for our shows. After many years of wanting to feel better about singing in the car or around the house, I finally decided to take singing lessons. I was very nervous as I wasn’t sure if I might be too old.
On my first lesson, I was so pleased at Noreen’s easy nature and very warm approach. I practice as often as I can, and after just a couple of lessons, I can tell I’m improving. I found Noreen and the Connected Voice Studio through a Google search.  I’m in my 40s, and I needed to prepare for an audition.  I knew I had to strengthen some weak areas in my voice that have caused a lot of frustration.  My goal was to get a “connected voice”, smoothing over those transitions between vocal registers, and strengthening my mix.  I chose to go with Noreen, because she addressed all the issues I had with my voice on her website, like she knew exactly what I was struggling with.  Since I live in Virginia, we had our lessons through Skype.  I started having lessons in May 2013 in preparation for a September audition.  I’ll be honest, it took a while for me to start seeing the results I wanted.  I practiced and practiced, but I was unsure I was going to get the results I wanted in time, and I wasn’t 100% sure she was taking me in the direction I wanted to go with my vocals, initially.  This caused some anxiety, but I made the decision to trust Noreen no matter what, since she was the expert.  I soon found that when I would follow her instructions, it always sounded much better than when I would do what I thought would sound good.  Lo and behold, in August, everything seemed to magically come together.  I started hearing the voice I was hoping to hear, stronger, more solid, pretty tone, and with much more control. I can sing songs I never would have attempted before, and she delivered exactly what she promised.  If you have any frustrations with your voice, trust Noreen!  But even more important than the fact that she delivered what she promised, she has brought back for me a true joy of singing, that I had lost over years of disappointment and discouragement.
